Secret Kitchens
About

The best food on the coast isn't on a menu board.

It's cooked in someone's kitchen, sold through a Facebook post, and gone by Sunday. Secret Kitchens gives those cooks a page of their own.

Why this exists

The food was never the problem. The admin is.

Every suburb has a cook everyone knows about. The jollof tray you have to message for by Wednesday. The cookies that sell out in a comment thread. The truck with a queue before the hatch is open.

They're running real businesses on DMs, screenshots and memory. Orders arrive in three different apps, half of them at midnight, and someone still has to write it all down.

So we build each of them one page. Menu, prices, photos, and an order form that actually takes the order. One link to send instead of forty replies.

What we are, and what we're not

We build your page and look after it. That's the whole job.

Not this

A marketplace

There's no app your customers browse, no feed you're competing in, and no algorithm deciding who eats your food. Your page is yours, at your own link.

Not this

A middleman

Customers order from you and pay you. Where a page takes card payments, the money goes straight to your own Stripe account. We never hold it and we never take a cut.

This

The people who build your page

We turn what you tell us into a working page, host it, keep it updated when your menu changes, and make sure the order form keeps working. One flat monthly plan.

How we work

Five things you can hold us to.

01

Your words, as you wrote them.

If you call it Nan's Sunday Lamb, that's what the page says. We don't rename, trim or tidy your food to fit a layout. If something's long, that's ours to fit.

02

Nothing goes public until you say so.

We build it, you look at it, you say go. Until then it's private. No customer sees a half-finished page.

03

We tell you. We don't switch you off.

If a payment setting lapses, a person lets you know and sorts it with you. Your checkout doesn't quietly die overnight because a flag flipped somewhere.

04

No countdowns, no pressure.

The price is the price. If Secret Kitchens is worth it, it's worth it next month too. We'd rather earn a slow yes than push a fast one.

05

Nothing between you and your customers.

Every kitchen page is a single, plain web page. No app to download. No account for your customers to create. It loads, they order.

Who it's for

If you sell fixed things at fixed prices with a pickup time, this works for you exactly as it is.

Home cooks with a following. Bakers with set flavours and set sizes. Feast cooks who cook big once a week. Trucks and stalls that want the queue sorted before they park.

And lately, makers who aren't cooking at all: a honey stall, a flower stall, a jewellery table.

Where we are

Built on the Gold Coast, for the Gold Coast first.

We'd rather do this properly in one place than thinly everywhere. If you're between Logan and the border, you're exactly who this is for.

Who's behind it

One person.

Secret Kitchens is built and run by one person. When you email, that's who answers. When your page needs changing, that's who changes it.

See a real page, then decide.

Every example kitchen is a working page with a live menu and order form, exactly as your customers would see it.

Free to register. Nothing to pay until your page is live. No commission on your sales.
